Little Simz Announces New Album “Lotus”

Shares thunderous lead single “Flood”.

Little Simz has announced her highly anticipated sixth album, Lotus, set for release on May 9, 2025, via AWAL Recordings. Alongside the announcement, she has unveiled the album’s first single, “Flood”, featuring Obongjayar and Moonchild Sanelly.

Opening with thunderous drums, “Flood” sees Simz delivering razor-sharp bars in a fierce, husky snarl, her voice shifting fluidly alongside the track’s pulsating rhythms. Produced by Miles Clinton James, the song brings together two singular vocalists: longtime collaborator Obongjayar and the electrifying Moonchild Sanelly, resulting in a hypnotic and uncompromising force.

For Simz, Lotus symbolises transformation and growth, reflecting both her artistic evolution and the album’s thematic journey through life’s complexities. The Salomon Ligthelm-directed music video for “Flood” offers a striking visual introduction to the world of Lotus.

Renowned for pushing boundaries, Little Simz has established herself as one of the UK’s most visionary artists. A multi-award winner—including Brit Awards, MOBOs, and an Ivor Novello—she has built an acclaimed catalog spanning mixtapes, EPs, and five studio albums.

Lotus is available for pre-order now ahead of its May 9 release. With “Flood” marking the start of a new chapter, Little Simz continues to shape the future of British music on her own terms.
