The Ocelots Announce New Album ‘Everything When Said Slowly’

The Ocelots unveil sophomore album with a richer, folk-rock sound, set for release in February 2025.

Wexford-born, Leipzig-based twin brothers Ashley and Brandon Watson, known as The Ocelots, have officially announced their highly anticipated second album, Everything When Said Slowly, set for release on February 7th, 2025. The album promises a richer, more expansive sound while retaining the duo’s folk-rock roots, with production by long-time collaborators Cillian and Lorcan Byrne. The record explores themes such as Irish migration, time, love, and life's simple pleasures, including cycling.

The first single, About You, is now available for streaming and download, offering an indie-pop, anti-love anthem with jangling electric guitars and tight rhythms. The accompanying music video is also available to watch.

Reflecting on the album's title, Ashley Watson explains, “The title comes from an old Irish man’s reflection on the passing of time. He said it had been a long time since people left Wexford, but not much time if you said it fast. It felt profound and captured the essence of the album perfectly.”

Everything When Said Slowly was recorded live at Orphan Recording Studios by Gavin Glass, with The Ocelots raw harmonies, open tunings, and dynamic instrumentation — coloured by flutes, synths, harmonica, and harmonium. The result is a lively yet contemplative record that fuses folk traditions with contemporary urban imagery.

To celebrate the album's launch, The Ocelots will be touring across Ireland and the UK in early 2025. Grab your ticket at the link here.
