The Hidden Cameras are ushering in a new era with their 20th anniversary expanded deluxe reissue of 'The Smell of Our Own'. Released on April 14th 2023 via Rough Trade Records, the deluxe edition will be pressed on yellow vinyl as a 2 x LP and features bonus demos, b-sides and live session recordings.

To celebrate the announcement, the band is sharing their rarely seen debut TV performance of 'Ban Marriage' and a never before seen document of their first radio session playing 'Boys Of Melody'. Plus, a newly unearthed Canadian TV news piece original broadcast on CBC in 2002, showing Geoff Travis discovering the band in Toronto, has also been revealed.

The Hidden Cameras first burst onto the Toronto music scene in the early 2000's, bringing with them an irresistible combination of pop and queer sensibilities. Playing their own genre of 'Gay Church Folk Music' and songs that ranged from haunting, aching ballads to foot-stomping anthems, the band's outrageous stage shows filled venues from dance bars to art museums and even a working porn cinema. Now based in Berlin, the ensemble continues to excite and provoke musically.

To mark the reissue, the band will be performing anniversary shows around Europe and the UK in March and April 2023. A show at eartH, London, with original string player Owen Pallett on April 10th, is among the tour dates. Be sure to join them for a unique celebration of their timeless debut album.
