Saint Leonard Shares New Single 'Threshold'

‘Threshold’ does not disappoint and is something to really feel the emotive spirit that Saint Leonard’s lyricism and virtuoso compositional techniques.

Take the time to listen Saint Leonard’s brand spanking new track twice back to back, then once more and once more after just incase you weren’t listening the time before and then on rotation for the entire of your rail replacement bus journey home (this may subside your frustration).

Leonard has once again delivered a new conception of their brand and being, following the example of glistening and inspiring synth new wave revival, buttery sawtooths and warming waves are the ever present themes followed in a VHS surround sound in your ears, however aptly titled, Saint Leonard has a new threshold too and at a wonderful time to launch a new single today (19/2) ahead of a SOLD OUT SHOW @ The Blue Basement in unison with Sorry and Third Man Records (unfortunately you’re too late, ikykyk)

Following the track’s emulsifying and addictive drum patterns of electronic loops and emphatically reverberating acoustic fills it only makes a wonderful addition to the journey the lyrics take us on. It’s not quite a coming of age, however could be well on the horizon for any young filmmaker’s wanting a solid choice for a soundtrack - (Wink wink, nudge nudge) yet more a tale of learning. The track works in such a manner of steps and is a processed learning, as there is a sheer amount of information and motif to soak up. For example in every pre chorus there is a new bell or whistle to appreciate, ooh’s and ahh’s paired with swelling pads all the way up to the marvellous saxophone outro from none other than London’s (and Ramsgate’s) most multitalented expert musicians, Alex White. It’s one of the most expressive and beautiful 40 seconds of a solo that can be experienced in the ether of new single releases at this moment and purely has to be grasped at full immersion on a live stage too.

‘Threshold’ does not disappoint and is something to really feel the emotive spirit that Saint Leonard’s lyricism and virtuoso compositional techniques are capable of - what’s more for those in attendance at Wednesday’s SOLD OUT SHOW is that you will experience ‘Threshold’ in all of its shining glory - from the first encounter of ‘Threshold’ it is a track that will constantly not stop giving back to you, it is a wonder how such meticulous and complex musical devices can fit into a single, there’s a myriad of musical elements to indulge in so the clear points to take here would be a) listen to the track in the order stated first and b) buy those live tickets before they’re sold out again!
