Rich Ruth Shares Compelling Live Performance Of Taken Back

Michael Ruth, a seasoned musician from Nashville, went on hiatus from touring in 2018 and focused on creating ambient music in his modest home studio, drawing from a variety of musical genres such as ambient, new age, spiritual jazz, Kosmiche, and minimalism. The addition of extra musicians allowed him to completely fulfil his ideas, fusing droning, repetitive synthesiser patterns with spontaneous improvisation to create something far more rich and surprising.

I Survived, It's Over was recorded in 2020 during the pandemic and shortly after a string of storms devastated his neighbourhood in North Nashville. Rich Ruth pushes his music even deeper into previously unexplored sound and emotional territory on this album. Ruth has produced a landmark work of organic, symphonic power, a deeply affirmative musical movement that transforms the unease and sorrow of this challenging time into something strong, true, and beautiful. She did this by fusing inventive sound exploration, complex instrumentation - from shredding guitars and swelling strings to flutes, saxophones, pedal steel, and more - and a transcendent passion for nature.

On his latest offering, Ruth shares one of the best live visualiser’s of 2022. Watch the video here.
