Oversized Shirts And Bruised Egos: Inside The Bizarre Clash Of BCNR And Osees

We don’t think they’re going to be Across The Pond Friends anytime soon.

In the wild world of music, rivalries and feuds are nothing new. From Oasis vs. Blur to Taylor Swift vs. Kanye West, tensions often arise and captivate fans. Today, we find ourselves amidst an unlikely clash between Black Country, New Road and Osees (formerly Thee Oh Sees, OCS, etc etc). What started as a lighthearted joke about an oversized shirt has escalated into a battle of tweets and passive-aggressive remarks.

It all began innocently enough when Osees' drummer shared an Instagram story poking fun at Charlie, the drummer of Black Country, New Road, and his oversized shirt. Captioned "when you borrow your dad's shirt," it seemed like a harmless jest. Little did anyone anticipate the firestorm that would ensue.

Lewis, the sax player of Black Country, New Road, took to Twitter and publicly called out Osees for their "pathetic" behavior. Sharing a screenshot of the Instagram story, he added the biting caption, "Honestly so pathetic. 40-something-year-old drummer from the Osees tryna beef us. Chill out, brother." The comment unleashed a flood of reactions from fans, with many finding Lewis' response over the top and “giggle-worthy”.

Fans of Black Country, New Road wasted no time in jumping into the fray, expressing their amusement at the intensity of Lewis' reaction. Some even took the opportunity to highlight the longevity of Osees' career, saying, "All he had to do was remind them about having 27 mostly boring records." Ouch! It seems like the fans are divided, with some finding the beef entertaining and others dismissing it as petty.

Not to be outdone, Charlie, the drummer of Black Country, New Road, joined the battle on Twitter. He sarcastically praised Osees, calling them a "cool band" and complimenting their drummer and tech team. However, he couldn't resist taking a jab at their professionalism, stating, "It was cool when they loudly played the drum kit backstage whilst we were playing. So epic." The tweet, although swiftly deleted, added fuel to the already raging fire.

As quickly as the feud escalated, it subsided just as rapidly. Both Lewis and Charlie's comments were promptly taken down from Twitter, leaving fans speculating about the behind-the-scenes drama and the possibility of a ceasefire.

As an impartial observer, it's hard to ignore the petty nature of this feud. From an innocent shirt joke to snarky comments and deleted tweets, it appears that egos may have played a significant role in the unfolding drama. While some find the controversy amusing, others yearn for a swift resolution, hoping that the two bands can set their differences aside and create music rather than feuding headlines.

Only time will tell if the members of Black Country, New Road and Osees can find common ground and move past this rather trivial dispute. After all, music has a way of bringing people together, and it would be a shame if personal grievances overshadowed the creative energy and talent of these talented musicians.

In an industry where tensions and rivalries often make headlines, it's important to remember that behind the scenes, artists are human beings with their own emotions and vulnerabilities. Perhaps this beef can serve as a reminder that even the most accomplished musicians can get caught up in petty disagreements. As fans, we can choose to either perpetuate the drama or focus on the music that originally drew us to these bands. Ultimately, it's up to Black Country, New Road and Osees to decide whether they want to let this feud define their relationship. Until then, the question of where you stand in the BCNR vs. Osees beef remains a personal one. Will you revel in the drama? Or will you take a step back and remember that music is meant to unite, inspire, and uplift us all? Let's hope that this feud fades into obscurity, allowing the focus to return to what truly matters, the art.
