HighSchool Share New Track 'Colt'

HighSchool return with another dance floor ready banger.

Melbourne-based band HighSchool have shared their latest single, ‘Colt’. Since their debut EP, HighSchool has toured with CHVRCHES and NewDad, played at numerous UK festivals, and released ‘Only a Dream’ on Dan Carey's Speedy Wunderground label. Now, the band is set to release their second EP, with ‘Colt’ as the first track to be heard. Co-produced with Dan Carey and mixed by Macks Faulkron, ‘Colt’ expands on the dance floor elements of previous single ‘De Facto’, turning to 80's NY electro and new wave, with splashes of Italo-disco and Western guitar.

The single's accompanying video was shot by the band on the ancient streets of Rome, with themes of wanderlust and Paris syndrome. The video portrays the touring life where opportunities to explore new cultures are often superseded by long drives, little money, crappy hotels, and short stints in the places they play. ‘Colt’ appropriately drops as the summer starts to kick in. Despite its warm exterior, the song is about longing with a fragile heart, harnessing the nervousness and excitement felt at the beginning of a new relationship.

‘Colt’ is set to be released today, ahead of the band's first UK headline tour. HighSchool will be joined by Viji as support on most dates, playing six shows in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Brighton, London, and Bristol. Listen to the new single below.
