Exclusive: Stream A Void’s New Single ‘2023’

One of of our favourite underground London bands is back with new single ‘2023’. Stream the track exclusively below.

Three-piece A Void have released a new single titled "2023" as a follow-up to their album "Dissociation". The Simone Reca-produced track was recorded at Perry Vale Studios in December 2022. "2023" is an energetic and upbeat song that humorously tackles sinister themes such as the end of the world, global warming, hyper-consumerism, and how the new generations are often disregarded as attention-seeking. The song's chorus reflects a sense of doom as the band sings, "It's 2023 / Soon we'll all burn in hell / Yet some still wonder why we get so dramatic."

The lyrics of the song suggest that no one is exempt from the impact of the impending disaster. The band highlights the absurdity of people's behavior in the face of such an event, consuming more to fill the void inside themselves. The track has a strong message about the importance of paying attention to the world around us and the consequences of our actions.

A Void is known for creating music that forces listeners to look at themselves in the mirror. The band's previous release, "Stepping On Snails," was a powerful metaphor for luck and delivered a message of acceptance of oneself and others. The band sees their musical evolution as an important journey and is proud to showcase their growth. "Stepping On Snails" is about having purpose and going against the current in a world filled with stress and where everyone is comparing themselves to each other. In this song, A Void aims to expand the safe space to the universe, creating a common journey for everyone to engage in together. Check out the new single below.
