This highly anticipated festival is set to be one of the biggest and best events of the year, with a jaw-dropping line up that will impress music lovers from around the world. From iconic legends to emerging talent, Primavera Sound offers a diverse range of musical acts that are guaranteed to blow your mind. But with so much to see and do, it's important to plan your visit in advance. In this mini guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to make the most out of your Primavera Sound experience, including tips on transportation, hydration, and more. So without further ado here’s our top tips for this years edition.
Explore the festival site as much as you can.
Some of our best memories from last year’s event were from wandering around the concrete jungle of Parc Del Forum - soaking in the vibes from the various corners of the festival, double taking performers we spotted in the audience and bumping into queue pals from the night before that we’ve already forgotten their name of, but know their full life story.
Which leads us to our next point..
Be prepared to walk. A lot.
Comfy shoes kids! Blistered, bleeding feet don’t pair well with that festival outfit you’ve meticulously planned.
Try out aaalll the food.
Well as much food as your bank balance allows. The food court at Primavera is its own stage in itself. So.much.choice. Plus, the communal dining is a great way to make new festival friends.
It’s a marathon not a sprint.
There’s a lot to pack into one weekend, so it can feel like abit of a race to run around and see everyone on your list. Make sure you include a decent amount of time (if you can) to secure a comfortable viewing spot.
Drink water.
It’s thirsty work being a legend - make sure you hydrate! hydrate! hydrate!
Bring your sunglasses.
Haven’t slept in 48 hours - can’t tell.
You’ll see people collect cups.
Well we did last year, apparently there are special cups? Not sure if it will be the same Primavera side quest this year but either way, recycle when you can.
Be prepared for an occasional queue.
Sometimes it can feel like the tens of thousands of festival goers surrounding you all got thirsty at exactly the same time and by chance, all fancied getting a beer from the same poor drinks server. Never fear though, there are a tonne of bars dotted around the festival, so if one bar is looking too rammed for your liking, there’s a high chance there’s another bar 5 minutes around the corner that’s empty.
Don’t be a dick!
goes without saying.
Stay up until the sun rises - especially on the last night.
There’s nothing more romantic than watching the fireworks as the festival comes to a close.
Remember - wear sunscreen.
The only thing that’s worse than being hungover on holiday, is being sunburnt and hungover on holiday.
Plan multiple routes home.
Although there are lots of public transport options that can ferry you to and from the festival site, sometimes your preferred choice isn’t running. So look out for your future self and have a plan B for your transport options, just in case.
See as many artists as you can.
Of course, the ultimate reason to attend Primavera is the incredible lineup of artists. From iconic legends to emerging talent, there's something for everyone at this festival. You'll have the chance to experience live performances from artists you never thought you'd see, as well as those you may have seen before and loved. And who knows, you might just discover a new favourite that you've never even heard before. With a lineup like the one at Primavera this year, it's no wonder that it's consistently considered one of the best festivals in the world. So get ready to have your mind blown away by the incredible music and unforgettable experiences that await you at Primavera 2023.
