Primavera Sound Barcelona Announce 2024 Lineup

Including Lana Del Rey, Pulp, SZA, Disclosure, FKA Twigs, Justice, Mitski, The National, Phoenix & More.

And so we have it. Primavera have released their full line-up for 2024’s musical extravaganza and, as expected, it’s full of the promise of sun, sweat and stupidly-good sets just when we need it most.

The festival is refreshingly female-fronted; all at once we have SZA’s first show in spain, after she shook up the R&B scene with massive tune ‘Good Days’ in 2020, whilst her 2022 album ‘SOS’ is still sending reverberations across the pop industry. Following her highly-anticipated Glastonbury set, which she kicked off 30 minutes late and was cast into silence several songs before the end, Lana Del Ray is back to serve up her melancholic summer dishes. Rock hero PJ Harvey and feminist legends Bikini Kill are also set to inject angst and ambition into the dreamy weekend. If all that doesn’t sit right with modern listeners, then we have hyper-pop visionary Charli XCX, electronic-pop singer and dancer FKA Twigs and indie-rock goddess Mitski fresh from the September release of her critically acclaimed seventh studio album ‘The Land is Inhospitable and So Are We’.

Some newer, but just as impressive, acts include London sensations The Last Dinner Party, Ethel Cain, Dillom, Omar Apollo and Romy. The fun of Primavera is it’s refusal to stick to any one genre; Deftones, Yo La Tengo, and even Keanu Reeves’ band Dog Star show up for the rock and roll fanatics, whilst Channel One strut their Jamaican dance all over the line-up, alongside DJ Playero’s reggae promise and Peggy Gou’s deep house. It’s hard to find an excuse not to go.

One final cherry on top: French indie-rock band Phoenix are opening it all up with a bang on the Thursday night, which is free to access. All you need now is to live locally enough to get yourself down there, or a space in those hostels that are sure to fly as soon as the ticket sales go live for general sale on 23rd November. Good luck, and see you there!
