Oral Habit Announce New Single ‘Sauerkraut’ and Spring Tour Dates
Brighton Psych-Garage duo deliver fuzzed-out chaos ahead of UK shows.
Brighton-based psych-garage duo Oral Habit have released their latest single, ‘Sauerkraut’, out today via Sour Grapes Records. Known for their high-voltage fuzz and raw energy, brothers Charlie and Felix Hales continue to carve their place in the UK’s thriving garage rock scene.
Clocking in at just two minutes, ‘Sauerkraut’ is a relentless punk charge, co-produced with fellow Brighton outfit School Disco. The track nods to the motorik repetition of classic Krautrock while embracing a wall-of-fuzz intensity reminiscent of Osees and CAN. Speaking about the single, Charlie Hales explains:
“A trudging riff that never stops, ‘Sauerkraut’ gives a nod to our love of 'Krautrock'—looping a motif for the entire song only to tarnish its honour with a blown-out wall of fuzz.”
Having built a reputation with electrifying live shows across Brighton and London, Their previous releases on Big Richard Records (Man/Woman/Chainsaw, something in the lake) helped establish their name, and with more music set for release this summer, 2025 is shaping up to be a big year.
The band is set for a packed run of live dates, including appearances at Homegrown Festival and The Alternative Escape, plus a May show alongside lo-fi rock risers C Turtle. Meanwhile, Charlie will also hit the road playing guitar for ELLiS·D across the UK and Europe.
