Moreish Idols Return with New Single "Pale Blue Dot"

Announce 7" release via Speedy Wunderground. Speedy Wunderground celebrate 50th single with release show on 30th September at The Shacklewell Arms, London.

South London’s Moreish Idols are back with a brand-new single, "Pale Blue Dot," marking a significant milestone in their evolving sound. The track follows the band's critically acclaimed EPs, Float and Lock Eyes and Collide, which garnered praise from top outlets like The FADER, NME, and BBC Radio 6 Music. The new single is set to be released as a 7” vinyl on 1st October, featuring an exclusive Dan Carey dub remix titled “Pale Blue Dub” and will be available via Speedy Wunderground.

Moreish Idols have established themselves as a distinct presence in the vibrant London music scene. Their earlier work leaned into a jagged, post-punk energy, but their second EP revealed a more experimental approach, blending swooning tremolo guitars, intricate melodies, saxophone improvisations, and dynamic rhythms. The band’s new single continues this trend of evolution, showcasing their ability to blend cyclical acoustic instrumentation with layered vocal harmonies, creating a direct and honest sound.

Reflecting on the single, the band shared, "Pale Blue Dot has gone through many versions, from a simple drum machine/guitar demo to an 'evil krautrock demon hellscape.' A spontaneous session with Dan Carey led us to record it in a new, stripped-down arrangement that felt like the purest version of the song."

"Pale Blue Dot" encourages listeners to embrace change, let go of the past, and commit to personal growth—a journey that mirrors the band's own creative process.

To celebrate the release, Speedy Wunderground will host a special 50th single release show on 30th September at The Shacklewell Arms in London. The event will feature performances by special guests Disgusting Sisters and other Speedy Wunderground alumni. Tickets are now available.
