Loving, the acclaimed Canadian indie outfit, has gifted us with their latest single ‘Blue’. Released via Last Gang Records/MNRK, this sweetly hazy and atmospheric track arrives with an accompanying video. As we explore ‘Blue’ and its captivating sounds, Loving is gearing up for an extensive European and UK tour in collaboration with Alice Phoebe Lou.

The song ‘Blue’ marks Loving's first new release since their 2020 debut album If I Am Only My Thoughts which has achieved an impressive 65 million streams worldwide. With its dreamy, folk-pop ambiance, "Blue" is perfectly suited for the warm embrace of early autumn, offering listeners a poignant journey through the depths of emotion.

Jesse Henderson, the band's singer and lyricist, provides insight into the song's origins: "'Blue' was discovered like an old photograph lost in a journal—an almost indecipherable voice memo we had overlooked. It possessed a particular feeling and allure—the blueness, depth, dizziness, and containment of a new love. Some of our recent songs play with the distortions and grandeur of romance, giving in, pushing back. This one gives in."

Loving, an artistic collaboration between Jesse Henderson and guitarist/multi-instrumentalist David Parry, initially took shape as a long-distance recording project, bridging the geographical gap between Victoria, BC, and Toronto, ON. Their self-titled debut EP in 2016 laid the foundation, while "If I Am Only My Thoughts" expanded upon the dreamy sonic canvas established by the EP.

As they prepare for their upcoming European and UK tour with Alice Phoebe Lou, Loving's future looks brighter than ever. The band's ability to craft lush soundscapes and tender, evocative lyrics promises to captivate audiences lucky enough to catch them live.
