Camberwell Marks Record Store Day With A Multi-Venue Celebration

Who needs Austin when we’ve got Camberwell?

To mark Record Store Day 2024, Dash the Henge orchestrated a scintillating, multi-venue event; creating their very own SXSE- a homegrown version of the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas (but without the ties to weapons contracts and imperialism).

In partnership with The Bear Camberwell, The Old Dispensary, and The  Greyhound in Peckham, RSD-goers were treated to a plethora of live music and exclusive vinyl. From The Super Furry Animals to De La Soul in the boxes, there was something for everybody.

Taking over The Bear, Naturalite sound system kept it mellow and heavy with endless layered dub and easygoing tunes all day long. While Dash the Henge hosted a multiplicity of intimate, acoustic performances.

Amongst the amiability of The Bear and Dash the Henge, The Old Dispensary  however was the eye of the storm. Presenting a palette of energised, electrifying  bands such as Hyperdense and The Dada Movement, Scarlett Woolfe dominated the line-up.

Capturing the undivided attention of every person in the room, Woolfe moved through her supercharged set with pure style and confidence. A fearless and  emotionally-charged performer, her sonic poetry echoed against a backdrop of gothic, post punk sound.

Following the release of her single ‘Poor Suzy,’ we are left anticipating what is set to be a defining album from Scarlett Woolfe.

As the live sets came to a close, RSD-goers made their way down the road for a jubilant afterparty at The Greyhound in Peckham, leaving with feelings of togetherness and unity through music.

In Dash the Henge’s words: ‘Lets do it again next year!’
