bar italia Announce New Album ‘The Twits’

Get ready for bar italia’s second album of 2023!

Comprising the formidable talents of Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi, and Sam Fenton, this genre-defying ensemble is poised to unveil their second full-length album of 2023, tantalisingly titled The Twits. The release date is set for November 3rd, a mere six months after their critically acclaimed Matador debut Tracey Denim.

A pulsating prelude to their upcoming album, the band has dropped the first single from the record, the enigmatically titled ‘my little tony’ accompanied by a visually striking video. As the creative spark ignited, bar italia embarked on an eight-week journey in February 2023. Like alchemists toiling in a hidden laboratory amidst the enchanting landscapes of Mallorca, their recording journey became a transformative journey. In this crucible of creativity, they forged a musical tapestry that ventured through the domains of thunderous vitality, enigmatic enchantment, wild passion, and sporadic shadows of the macabre.

A UK tour, including a sold-out headline show at London's ICA, marked a triumphant chapter in Bar Italia's journey, described by The Spectator as "transfixing." In June, they made their US debut with sold-out residencies in New York and Los Angeles, earning accolades from Brooklyn Vegan for their captivating live performances.

As they continue to captivate audiences on their UK and European tour through September-November, including a sold-out headline show at Village Underground on November 7th, Bar Italia's trajectory shows no signs of slowing. Festival appearances at Stay Out West and Pitchfork Music Festival Paris are on the horizon, and they'll return to the US in December for a North American tour, culminating in a sold-out Bowery Ballroom show in New York on December 4th.

Looking ahead, Bar Italia has announced additional North American dates for spring 2024 and an extra London headline show scheduled for May 2nd at Electric Brixton, following the rapid sell-out of their November date.
